What is Going On?!?!?

Ok... first the Gary Coleman dream... now this.

This morning, after dropping my son off at school, I headed to Border's to study... when I got there, I decided to take my kids' trash out of the van (minivan parents, you feel my pain)... and SEAGULLS were swarming everywhere! They weren't swooping down on me, but they weren't flying really high, either!

I almost cursed... for real. I don't like birds.

SO, they're swarming not too high above me and the van... "Bwak! Bwak!!" YOU KNOW THEIR SOUND!!! "BWAK!!!" All I had was a banana peel and some McDonald's trash... not like I had real food! Sheesh!

I decided to make a run for it... so, I ran across the parking lot - not fast, because I didn't want to look like a punk, you understand... but sort of a "quick trot" - and at the same time, I'm saying, "HOLY moley... HOOOOOLY moley!!" I don't know why! I just was! But I made it into the store... safe and sound... and the birds flew away. VERY strange, indeed.

Then, just a little while ago, I decided to take a quick lunch break... so, I left out of Border's and ran over to Wendy's to get a chicken sandwich (or two... shoot, they're only $1.19). When I got back and pulled back into the parking space, I could hear those freakin' birds again! "BWAK! BWAK!!"

I'm like, "I haven't even gotten out of the van... HOW DO THEY KNOW IT'S ME?!?!?!?" I sat in the van for a minute, thinking, "Even so, come quickly, Lord Jesus..." But I knew I couldn't stay there... and the 2nd Coming wouldn't take place because of the demon birds... so I took the sandwiches out of the bag, hid them in my coat... and made a run for it. This time, they didn't follow me.

And I was glad.

Things are gettin' kinda crazy, my friends!

Another day in the life of my friend Darren. At least they weren't saying the lines from Nemo..."mine, mine, mine" - That would have really freaked me out :)
