The Words of a Friend

Up early today... it's 5:07am, and I've been awake for about 2 hours. I laid in bed, praying until about 4:30... then I got up and read this passage. The book of Joshua is one of my favorites in the entire Bible, and God is really speaking to me from it...

You know, it's easy to become fearful when you don't see clearly what's ahead of you... It's easy to become discouraged when others who've gone before you have been successful leaders... and you wonder, "Will people follow me the same way?"

But this morning, my friend Joshua reminded me to "not be afraid or discouraged. For the Lord your God is with you wherever you go."

Powerful words...

Great post Darren...I was up with you yesterday getting ready for a planning meeting with my childrens ministry team at 6 am.

As a volunteer leader, sometimes it gets overwhelming everything on my plate. I see what others who are in full time ministry can do and it gets discouraging when I am not able to give all the time I think Kingdom Kids needs..I wonder if I have what it takes to lead this ministry..can I see and hear what God wants?? Then I remember it isn't me doing it, it is God doing it, he is just using me..I just have to be humble and let him. I have to get over my fears and trust Him, because as Joshua said, he is with me no matter where I am...

Peace..keep posting and inspiring...
