Innovation, Chaos, and the Glory of God

This is a great video by Mark Driscoll, pastor of Mars Hill Church in Seattle. He NAILS it... if we are about the business of reaching people far from God, then our churches will be messy - no ifs, ands, or buts about it. When lost people meet Jesus, their entire LIVES are ransacked... because they've been going 100mph AWAY FROM JESUS, and now they've hit the brakes, come to a screeching halt, and have to do a U-turn around... uhhh, that can be messy!

If you're even THINKING about church planting, and you don't like messy ministry, RETHINK YOUR CALLING, do something nice and predictable like working at a bank... or a grocery store. But don't plant a church... and don't get involved in a church plant! Because it can get MESSY!!

In fact, I think I'm going to wear a hard hat this Sunday, and post signs up that say, "DANGER: LIVES UNDER CONSTRUCTION!"
