Lean on You?

Met today with the pastoral staff of Hillcrest Baptist Church, and had an awesome time! Hillcrest is our sponsor church, so we try to stay in the loop with one another as much as possible. For those of you who don't know, a sponsor church is one who supports a new church plant, with finances, people, and various other means of support... and acts as a "covering of legitimacy" (so to speak) while the fledgling church is in its infancy. Hillcrest isn't my home church, but they were willing to make an investment in me and in the ministry. That's huge.

Other supporting churches for Mosaic have been The New Macedonia Baptist Church in DC and Emmanuel Church in Huntingtown, MD. Both ministries have supported us either financially or with temporary workers. Many people/churches don't understand this, but every new church plant needs strong churches to come alongside of it... not just in prayer (as important as that is), but in tangible ways, as well. There are so many needs that arise... some expected... some unexpected... and the two main (tangible) needs usually happen to center around resources: 1) money and 2) people....

I'm extremely thankful for these three churches that have been awesome in their support of us!

"Moreover, as you Philippians know, in the early days of your acquaintance with the gospel, when I set out from Macedonia, not one church shared with me in the matter of giving and receivng, except you only; for even when I was in Thessalonica, you sent me aid again and again when I was in need." (Philippians 4:15-16)

"We all need... somebody... to lean on!" ;-)
