Rollin', Rollin'!!

She finally got it... ... the motorcyle ride she's been waiting for for TWO MONTHS! One of my best friends, Shawn, had been promising Keda a ride on his bike... and, this past weekend, she finally got her wish!

She finally got it... ... the motorcyle ride she's been waiting for for TWO MONTHS! One of my best friends, Shawn, had been promising Keda a ride on his bike... and, this past weekend, she finally got her wish!

Seth turned FIVE today... and he doesn't want us to forget it. He has declared this "Seth's Day." :-) His favorite gift is what he's been asking for since Christmas: web fluid for his Spiderman Web Blaster (he loves Spidey).
Of course, his "Seth-isms" continue... here's one from last night, right before I prayed with him at bedtime:
Seth: "Daddy... will Jesus be mad if I shoot Him with my webs?"
Me: "Haha... I don't think so, buddy. Jesus loves kids... He'll probably shoot you back!"
Seth: "But... He's God, Daddy! If He shoots me back, will it hurt???"
Had a GREAT time at the Mosaic Roundtable... will share more details later, as well as some pics! Right now, I am DEAD tired... still suffering from jet lag and a vicious hour of basketball... from 10:30-11:30pm. Erwin and the crew took us to the Clippers-Suns game tonight... and we got a chance to go out and play B-ball for an hour... on the floor of the Staples Center! How cool is that?? And Erwin is quite the competitor (no sir, I don't believe that "26, Competitor" StrengthsFinder score was accurate at all, buddy... ha!!)
Of course, I hadn't played basketball (or any sport, for that matter) in quite awhile... so 4 straight games had me pretty whipped! In fact, the FIRST game had me pretty whipped! Ha! I "got my wind" back during the 3rd game... but my legs were nowhere to be found... couldn't locate those bad boys anywhere! Then, my "international buddies" Russ (Australian) and Andy (Irish) walked me halfway to San Francisco (that's what it felt like!!) to get to Russ' car afterwards... sheesh! :-) I was definitely no good by that time... whipped, I tell ya!
But my two days here were simply incredible. Can't wait to write more... Russ wants me to come back in April for the Awakens Conference; not sure my bride will go for that one! Ha! But I've definitely got to get back here... the West Coast is awesome!
"Go West, young man!"
I went to the metro station this morning, and passed out over 100 Mosaic promo cards and breakfast bars... after 40 minutes, the bars were all gone! At first, I was asking if people wanted the breakfast bars... I'd say, "Breakfast bar?" and hold out the bar with a promo card... some took them; alot didn't. So, I decided to change my strategy... instead of asking them if they wanted a breakfast bar, I just started saying, "Happy Thanksgiving!" and hold out the goods... now, most took them! So, I'll be back at the station next week, but from now on with no fewer than 200 bars!
A couple of hours later, I got a call from a man with a high voice and an accent... asking about our worship gatherings. This is how the conversation went:
Caller: "What time are your services?"
(Let me pause here and say that I was VERY EXCITED, because I'm figuring that this caller had received a promo card just a couple hours earlier!)
Me: "Our services are on Sundays, in the evenings, at 5:30."
Caller: "Do you have healing and the impartation of the Holy Ghost?"
Me: (WHAT?!?!) "Umm... can you repeat that?"
Caller: "Do you have healing services and miracles and the impartation of the Holy Ghost? I'm very sick and my doctor told me to go to church and get healing, and the sickness would be gone!"
Me: "Well, sir, we believe that the Holy Spirit is given at the time of salvation to those who put their faith in Christ... and we believe that God does heal and perform miracles. However, He does so as He pleases. And if you were to come to Mosaic this Sunday and ask for healing, I would most definitely lay hands on you and ask God to heal your body! But I can't promise anything... when God heals is up to Him. But we'll definitely believe Him together for your healing."
Caller: (voice lowers) "Hey, D... what's up, man!!"
Me: "Wha---??"
Man, it was THIS DUDE, playing a joke! Some people are just wrong... :-)
Saw THIS QUIZ on Kem Meyer's blog...
I am Suresh: My "power" is in my leadership and in my ability to organize those around me. I may not be able to fly or have incredible strength, but my knowledge makes me a real superhero...
NO, I DIDN'T MAKE THAT UP!!!!
Geez... :-)
Aw, man...
We didn't get a chance to see fireworks yesterday... it was raining here, tornado watches and everything... and by the time things settled down a bit, we didn't feel like rushing out to try to catch a fireworks show. But all's cool, because the town of Laurel where we live will kick off their fireworks on Saturday night... and they traditionally put on a really good show!
On the other hand, I'm pretty jealous of my friend Dave, who got to do some home fireworks with his granddaughter... I wanted so badly to do the sparkles/firecrackers thing with my boys... but they're illegal in Maryland. AUGH!!! :-)
Speaking of my boys, I'm working from home this morning... Daddy duty! This is all I've heard this morning:
"Stop!"
"Leave me alone!"
"Get off of me!"
"That's mine... give it back!"
"Stop... I'm tellin' Dad!"
"Get away from me!"
(this is what I said... just kidding!)
Whew... I'm worn out, and it isn't even 11am yet! I'm gonna have to send them outside soon... or to the moon, whichever comes first! :-)
