Of Mice and Men...

To piggy-back off of my post from yesterday, I also run across guys who feel as though "all the puzzle pieces must line up" before they church plant. Well, not only is a specific calling from God a must, but you'll never plant a church if you're afraid to step out on faith and trust God. That's not to say you have to live in the poorhouse, or that you don't wait for God's timing... but God will not line up everything perfectly before He says, "Go!" There's not a person in Scripture that received a specific call from God who also knew all the details beforehand!

"Without faith, it is IMPOSSIBLE to please Him" (Heb. 11:6).

Learn to hear from God before you move, so that you don't get thrown by the myriad of voices that will come down the pike later...

Learn to trust God before you move, so that - when all you see before you is a humongous giant- you'll believe in His power to propel you forward with nothing but a slingshot and a few little rocks...

Church planting is no joke!! Receiving the call is one thing... stepping out on faith is another. Ya gotta step... even when you don't feel the ground beneath your feet and you don't see clearly ahead. The same God who made creation from nothingness... parted the Red Sea with a walking stick... demolished Jericho's walls with a trumpet orchestra... fed 5,000+ hungry rascals with a few small fish and some biscuits... the same God will be your firm foundation, and can lead you and guide you to accomplish His will!

"The Lord watches over those who fear him, those who rely on his unfailing love. He rescues them from death, and keeps them alive in times of famine" (Psalm 33:18).
